
Farid is a lawyer with more than 14 years’ experience advising both government and non-government clients on aligning private interests with public objectives through administrative law matters, public-private partnership advisory, and lawmaking practices. He has been instrumental in shaping multiple pieces of legislation and other forms of binding policy, as well as public-private cooperation projects, at both the central and local government levels in Indonesia. His engagements with the Government have included work with various ministries, agencies, and local governments, such as the Coordinating Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (Kemenko IPK), Ministry of National Development Planning (Bappenas), the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN), the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT), the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes), the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), The Nusantara Capital City Authority, as well as various agencies within local governments, among others, the Government of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta (Pemprov DKI Jakarta), the Provincial Government of Maluku (Pemprov Maluku), and various municipal governments (pemerintah daerah kota/kabupaten).
His legal work spans a range of sectors, including infrastructure development, urban governance, sustainability, food systems, water and utilities, housing, health, waste management & sanitation, transportation, digital transformation, disaster management, asset management, project financing, and cross-cutting governance issues such as corruption prevention mechanisms, risk management, integrity frameworks, and Regulatory Impact Assessment. Until recently, he served as a member of the legal team of the President-elect’s Assistance Team formed following the 2024 general election, a research fellow at the University of Indonesia, a legal expert in the green infrastructure development project of a transnational development organization, and a legal consultant for a number of National Strategic Projects (Proyek Strategis Nasional).
Farid is a member of the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI) and the Association of Urban Legal Scholars (AULS). In addition to his legal practice, Farid has long been engaged in academic work, having taught law at the University of Indonesia for over a decade and currently serving as a research fellow at the same institution. He holds both a Law degree and a Master’s degree from the University of Indonesia.
