Batara is a seasoned lawyer with more than 14 years of experience, including significant period at the prominent law firm Lubis Ganie Surowidjojo. He specializes in complex litigation and has represented high-profile clients in a wide range of legal disputes.
He earned his law degree from the University of Indonesia and holds professional credentials as a licensed advocate under the Indonesian Advocates Association (PERADI), as well as a registered receiver and administrator for bankruptcy matters with the Indonesian Receiver and Administrator Association (AKPI).
Batara has successfully handled numerous high-stakes cases, including:
- Prajogo Pangestu – Represented the client in administrative court disputes.
- Blue Bird Group – Successfully defended the company in various litigation cases across Indonesian courts.
- Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk – Represented the company in a major cartel allegation and a separate tax case review.
- Goldman Sachs International – Handled a complex dispute involving listed shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
- Morgan Stanley Indonesia – Provided legal assistance in a criminal case related to stock blocking at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police.

- PT Recon Sarana Utama – A subsidiary of PT Rekayasa Industri (SOE); Batara oversaw the restructuring process to successful completion.
- PT Griya Karunia Sejahtera – A subsidiary of PT Binakarya Jaya Abadi Tbk, which resulted in a successful homologation.
- PT Total Solusi Konstruksi – Concluded with a court-approved debt settlement agreement.
He has also served as a court-appointed receiver for PT Bostinco, PT Fors Fortis Indonesia, and PT Investa Bersama Abadi. He also served for three years as an expert at the Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN/Bappenas), where he advised on legal matters for national strategic projects.
